NetID Services

All faculty, staff, students and guests are assigned a Rutgers unique identifier known as a NetID. It is comprised of initials and a unique number (e.g. jqs23). A Rutgers NetID is generated for students when they register for class and pay their term bill. For faculty & staff - when they are initially entered into RIAS for payroll.

In order to access many of the electronic services available to you at Rutgers, you need to activate your Rutgers NetID. This can be accomplished by visiting:

Once your NetID is activated, you can also enable other useful services.  To begin, click on the link for "NetID Activation" in the top left corner of the page.

You will be asked to enter some basic information:

During the activation process, you will be asked to create security questions and set a NetID password.  It is important that you keep this information confidential. As you continue,  you will see a configuration summary:
